Westchester County Martial Arts Ju Jitsu: A Brief Explanation
The word Ju Jitsu , Ju Jutsu, or Jiu Jitsu can be broken down to two parts: "Ju" translates to soft or gentle, and "Jitsu" translates to art or discipline. In truth, it can be defined as Japanese combative grappling.
The samurai warriors tested these techniques on the battlefields. Those techniques that did not meet the test of combat were eliminated.
Techniques of Ju Jitsu consist of the art of falling, throwing, choking, twisting the joints, combative grappling, and striking.
The Ju Jitsu techniques taught at Elite Defensive Tactics are derived from the "San Yama Bushi" school of Ju Jitsu. was founded by Shinan Hector M. Negron, Kaidan (10th Degree) in Ju Jitsu. Shinan also holds a Godan (5th Degree) in Kodokan Judo.
